StubHub — the oldest resale giant.
Launched in 2000, acquired by eBay in 2007, sold to viagogo in 2020. The deepest inventory for US major-league sports and arena-tier concerts. Promos are rarer than on Vividseats or SeatGeek but — when they land — tend to be flat-dollar amounts on four-figure orders, which beats a percentage discount for high-ticket playoffs.
What StubHub does well
- Inventory depth. You will find a seat at virtually any US-pro game, any touring act above club size, and the vast majority of regional theatre. Only Vividseats comes close.
- FanProtect guarantee. If the seller cancels, the ticket is invalid at the venue, or the event is cancelled outright, StubHub refunds or replaces. The replacement is often an equivalent or better seat at no extra charge.
- Transparent map. The interactive seat map colour-codes price tiers in a way that makes it quick to find the sweet spot between budget and sightline.
Where StubHub is weaker
- Service fees. Buyer-side fees settle around 20–28 % on most orders. The marketplace displays all-in pricing by default now, which helps — but the sticker shock before the toggle is still real.
- No loyalty tier. Unlike Vividseats' Rewards, there is no points scheme. Repeat buyers pay the same as first-timers.
- Promo rhythm. StubHub promos are opportunistic, usually tied to a seasonal moment (fall MLB post-season, NFL mid-season, holiday Broadway) rather than an always-on welcome offer. That's why only a few of our 12 live codes are StubHub's at any given time.
How StubHub promo codes work in practice
The promo-code field sits on the final payment step, below the saved-card picker. Codes do not stack with "instant discounts" the marketplace sometimes applies at checkout. Flat-dollar codes (e.g. our SH-FALL59) typically require a minimum order and are capped at one per account; percentage codes are usually capped by maximum discount.
If the field is missing, your account is probably on a locked variant of checkout (mobile-app guests sometimes see this). Sign in from a desktop browser, add the ticket again — the field re-appears.

Who should use StubHub
Buyers of expensive single-event tickets where inventory depth matters more than loyalty perks: NFL regular-season, MLB post-season, Grammy-tier arena tours, Broadway marquee shows. If you're a budget-conscious regular, Vividseats' loyalty programme usually comes out ahead over a year.
